Rostelecom may buy MegaFon mobile operator in the near future
Rostelecom State Holding is negotiating the acquisition of MegaFon mobile operator from USM Group.
Kommersant writes about this with reference to sources. The interlocutors
of the publication draw attention to the fact that USM is actively restructuring
telecommunications assets, indicating an upcoming deal.
It is noted that at the end of last year, MegaFon began to acquire telecommunications-related companies from USM. In particular, in December, oneFactor, which develops analytical platforms based on AI, transferred from YUESEM Telecom LLC to MegaFon. In January 2023, the same happened with InPlat, which processes payments on the Internet, works with VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and other services. According to one of the newspaper’s sources, all this indicates preparations for the upcoming sale of MegaFon.
